How We Met
It is said, “All that's good, comes to those who wait…” — Just like that, on the night of December 3, 2022 — Bhavik and I met on a “blind date” (the 1st for both of us) set up by a matchmaking service we used, called Tawkify (https://tawkify.pxf.io/BhavikAditi). He was late (for the 1st time in his life!) and I was on-time (for the 1st time in my life!)…And, the rest, has been a beautiful journey together since.
The Proposal
The “Proposal” was a fairy tale for me! Bhavik really swept me off my feet and made me believe in fairy tales all over again! (When, in the modern-dating world, they rarely exist anymore!)
He planned it all for months, to my surprise. And, he even called my parents to seek their permission, all the while I was clueless to it all! SNEAKY BHAVIK!
On the most hectic day, he asked me to come out for dinner with him. And, emphasized for me to dress up, along with to get my nails done (Which he knows I rarely do!). Irritated as I was already with my hectic day, I agreed to meet him–Because, who can resist him when he is smiling with those dimples! When I asked him where to meet him, he told me, he will text me the address later! Trying to keep cool, I let that slide and did my best to get ready. I just thought we were going somewhere “Fancy,” as Bhavik likes “Fancy places”…
Then at around 4pm that day, I receive a text from him with an address saying “San Juan Capistrano”–That's the place we had our 1st date!! SNEAKY BHAVIK!!
I tried not to think too much of it, as I thought maybe he wants to meet there because we always wanted to go back there again. I just drove there…Parked my car…And, received a text from him telling me he will be late! I proceeded to the restaurant to grab our table. When I reached there, the hostess confirmed that Bhavik wasn't there yet and took me up the stairs to our table. When we reached the top of the stairs, she stopped me, and whispered “Wait…I think he is here!”
And, then…
I hear a very familiar song…A Bollywood love song (Note: Bhavik is not a Bollywood type, so for him to hear a translation of song to understand the meaning behind it and to play it for the proposal, was a HUGE deal!)
I was so surprised…SO-SOOOO surprised…!
Then, I turned around to the hostess and said, “WHERE IS MY PERSON?!!! WHERE IS HE?!!” And, from behind a pillar across from me, Bhavik comes out–Showcasing those dimples of his–Ones, he always gets away with!
What all he said after that, I don't remember…
Which hand I had to give him to place my ring on…I didn't remember…
It was all so magical…SO EMOTIONAL…And, the most romantic fairy tale-like proposal, I could've ever asked for! Everyone around us disappeared for me–I just wanted to hold on to that moment…forever!
Then…popped out a professional photographer he hired, in front of us! SNEAKY BHAVIK!!!
He planned a whole photo shoot…!!! He had menus printed with the same things we ordered on our 1st date (Yes! He kept that receipt!!)…
He had my favorite champagne…
He had special See's chocolates in a heart shaped box…
And, above all…He was standing right beside me…Holding my hand…
As always, as my “Prince Charming”…
For, I said, “YES!” and I will say “YES!” over and over again…!
My “SNEAKY” Bhavik!!!! 🙂
It's been quite a beautiful journey since then and we look forward to celebrating our story with ALL of you on MAY 12, 2024!
